Sacramone is First-Ever Women's Gymnastics Olympian
Brown's Alicia Sacramone has made it official. Long considered to be a lock to make the team based on a strong showing at the Olympic trials, she looked even better at camp to secure a spot on the U.S. women's gymnastics team. It is the first time an Ivy will be in the Women's competition.

Brown's Stojic Returns to Olympics in Men's Rowing
At the 2007 World Championships in Germany, Brown's Nikola Stojic ('93) and his partner were placed 6th in the coxless pair final (200m – 6:23.45) — a time good enough to qualify for the Beijing Olympics. Stojic makes for a 24th possible Ivy Rowing participant at the Games.

Yale's Harutunian to the USFA Hall of Fame in 2009
One year after Penn's Dave Michanik was elected to the United States Fencing Association Hall of Fame, fellow Ivy League coach Harry Harutunian will be inducted into the coaching fraternity in 2009. The eldest statesmen of Ivy League coaching, Harutunian has been at Yale for 37 years.

Princeton Cracks S.I. Top 25 College Sports Program List
Sports Illustrated has ranked Princeton as the No. 13 athletic program in all of NCAA Division I for the 2007-08 academic year, the magazine announced Wednesday.

Ivies Honored by Women's Basketball Coaches Association
The Women's Basketball Coaches Association announced its winners for the 2007-08 Academic Top 25 Team Honor Roll. The honor awards teams throughout the nation that carry the highest grade point averages for the entire season based on member nominations. Two Ivy League schools were named.

Schoonmaker in as Interim Cornell Women's Tennis Coach
Barry Schoonmaker, who served as the Cornell men's tennis coach since 1995, has been named the interim Carl Meinig '31 Head Coach of Women's Tennis this coming season. He will relinquish his duties as head men's tennis coach.

More Ivy Rowing Influence at Beijing Olympics
Six additional Ivy League athletes will be on the water at the Shunyi Olympic Rowing-Canoeing Park when the competition begins on August 9 and runs through August 17. The Ivy League now has 23 potential participants in the sport.

Ivies Abound on U.S. Boats Bound for Beijing
It has been announced that the 2008 U.S. Olympic Team roster for rowing has been set, pending Olympic Committee approval. Thirteen crews, which may accommodate as many as 17 Ivy League athletes — 14 members and three alternates — will represent the United States at the 2008 Olympic Games in China.

Anna Willard Heads to Beijing with American Record
Brown's Anna Willard set an American record in the women's 3,000-meter steeplechase en route to winning the event at the Olympic Trials. Her 9:27.59 effort effectively punches her ticket to the 2008 Beijing Games where she will represent the United States as the event makes its Olympic debut.

Penn's Micahnik Enters Fencing Hall
Dave Micahnik, the head coach of Penn’s men’s and women’s fencing teams, was inducted into the United States Fencing Hall of Fame on Saturday as part of the seven-member Class of 2008. The induction ceremonies were part of the 2008 Summer Nationals in San Jose, Calif.

Brown's Sacramone Earns U.S. Olympic Team Camp Invite
Former Brown student-athlete and Olympic hopeful Alicia Sacramone competed at the 2008 U.S. Olympic Team Trials in Philadelphia, Pa., over the weekend. Sacramone placed first on the vault, and earned fifth on both the beam and floor. Her performance earned Sacramone an invite to the Women's Olympic Selection Camp, July 16-20 at the National Team Training Center in Huntsville, Texas.

Lions Land Four Arthur Ashe, Jr. Sports Scholars
Four Columbia student-athletes were chosen as Arthur Ashe Jr. Sports Scholars for 2008, including Ben Nwachukwu — a repeat selection from 2007. To be considered, a student of color must compete in an intercollegiate sport, maintain a cumulative GPA of 3.2 and be active on his or her campus or community.

Cornell's Halim Soars to National Title in Triple Jump
For a second year in a row, a student-athlete from Cornell has come away from the NCAA Track and Field Championships with the National title. Senior tri-captain Muhammad Halim had a remarkable series of jumps and reached a new school record (wind aided). His triumph came a year after Rayon Taylor won the title for the Big Red.

Penn's Waxman Named Goalkeeper of the Year (Again!)
Senior goalkeeper Sarah Waxman was named the C. Markland Kelly Goalie of the Year for the second consecutive season. The First-Team All-American received the honor at the IWLCA's annual awards banquet in King of Prussia, Pa.

If there is going to be a track and field national champion from the Ivy League this year, it will be Cornell senior triple jumper Muhammad Halim, as he posted the second-best mark (52-10 3/4) in the qualifying round at the NCAA Championship in Des Moines, Iowa, on Friday.

The Columbia baseball team fell victim to a pitching spectacle in an elimination game with East Carolina in the NCAA Baseball Tournament. Senior T.J. Hose went the distance for the Pirates, completing a four-hit shutout in the 9-0 victory. The Ivy champions finish the year 22-30.

Frick Soars In Tallahassee
Princeton high jumper Justin Frick had the finest day of his short career Friday at the NCAA East Regional Track & Field Championships at Florida State's Mike Long Track, clearing a career-best 7-2 1/4 on his first attempt to win the event and qualify for next month's NCAA championship meet.

Columbia Falls 10-2 at Coastal Carolina Region
The Columbia baseball team showed that it belonged in the NCAA Baseball Championship in Conway, S.C. in the early innings against Coastal Carolina. But the Chanticleers eventually solved Bill Purdy and pulled away late, 10-2. The Lions will play an elimination game against East Carolina on Saturday at 1 pm.

Lettire Selected to NFCA All-American Team
Princeton sophomore pitcher/first baseman Jamie Lettire has been selected to the third team All-America by the National Fastpitch Coaches Association, becoming the first Tiger softball player since 1995 to receive the honor.

Moses Named Academic All-American
Brown junior Michelle Moses has been selected to the ESPN the Magazine Academic All-America softball team by the members of CoSIDA. Moses was named to the University Division Third Team.

Brown Baseball Duo Named Academic All-Americans
Senior Brown baseball players Conor Reardon and J.J. Eno have been selected to the ESPN the Magazine Academic All-America teams by members of the College Sports Information Directors Association. Reardon was named to the University Division second-team while Eno made the third-team.

Columbia Gets Unexpected Draw in NCAA Baseball
If ever there was a microcosm of a season, the Columbia Lions NCAA draw might just be that. In an "expect the unexpected" year, the Lions completed the improbable rise to the Ivy championship after a 0-9 start and finished 22-28. Conventional wisdom would suggest that a sub-.500 team would be at the mercy of a Top-8 squad, but Columbia found itself in a surprising location — at No. 21 Coastal Carolina.

Northwestern Stops Quaker Movement for NCAA Title
At the half in the Women's Lacrosse National final, Northwestern led Penn by a 5-2 margin. In the history of the tournament no team had ever come back from such a half-time deficit, but the Ivy champions launched a furious offensive in order to change that fact. In the end, Northwestern weathered the storm and turned back the Quakers for the NCAA title, 10-6.

Sailer, Starsia to Join National Lacrosse Hall of Fame
Current Princeton women's coach Chris Sailer (pictured) and former Brown player and coach Dom Starsia, now head coach at Virginia, have been selected to the eight-person induction class of 2008 for the National Lacrosse Hall of Fame.

Penn Earns Shot at Title in Women's Lacrosse
Down by three goals with 18 minutes to go, Penn rallied to take the lead in the National semifinal with just over five minutes remaining. After Duke forced overtime, Rachel Manson fired the Quakers into the National title game with 42 seconds remaining in double overtime, 9-8.

All-Ivy Rowing (2008)
The 2008 All-Ivy teams for rowing were determined at Eastern Sprints over the weekend as the first Ivy varsity eight across the line in the Grand Finals of the three sports (men's heavyweight and lightweight; women's) earned the Ivy Championship and first-team All-Ivy status.

Brown, Cornell Grab Final Titles
The Brown men's heavyweights and the Cornell lightweights won the last two Ivy Championships, claiming the titles at the Eastern Sprints on Lake Quinsigamond in Worcester, Mass., on Saturday.

The Princeton softball team ended their season after falling to Lehigh in the first elimination game at the NCAA Amherst Regional, ending their season with a 25-24 record.

Towson Bound!
Penn women's lacrosse will make its second appearance in as many years in the NCAA National Semifinal. The Quakers clinched the berth by beating Boston University 8-5 at Drexel's Vidas Field. Princeton was also in action but was eliminated, 18-11, at No. 1 Northwestern.

All-Ivy Baseball (2008)
Columbia's Henry Perkins hit .384 in Ivy play with six doubles, three triples and two home runs. The everyday player was also an extremely effective spot pitcher and fielder, posting a .980 fielding percentage in addition to a heavy bat. He is the 2008 Ivy League Player of the Year.

Thirty Down, Three To Go
The 2007-08 Ivy League championship season comes to a close on Sunday as the final Ivy titles will be earned at the Eastern Sprints — the men, heavyweight and lightweight, on Lake Quinsigamond in Worcester, Mass., and the women on the Cooper River in Pennsauken, N.J.

All-Ivy Men's Outdoor Track (2008)
Three seniors — Cornell's Adam Seabrook and Muhammad Halim along with Yale's Victor Cheng — were double individual winners while Seabrook and Cheng each added a relay title at the Outdoor Heps in New Haven, Conn., over the weekend. That trio heads the 2008 All-Ivy squad.

The All-Ivy women's track & field team is headlined by the co-Most Outstanding Performers of the meet, Cornell junior standout Jeomi Maduka and Penn senior distance star Stacy Kim.

Penn and Princeton women's lacrosse used strong offensive outputs to navigate through first round NCAA match-ups. The Quakers drove by Colgate, 16-7, and will host Boston U. in the next round. The Tigers upended Vanderbilt, 14-10, and will travel to No. 1 Northwestern.

Tennis Season Comes To A Close
The Harvard men lost to Texas Tech while the Yale women fell at Georgia in the first round of the NCAA Tennis Championships over the weekend. The Crimson lost 4-2 while the Bulldogs lost 4-0, but held the lead in the other three matches when the contest ended.

Cornell Laxers Fall in NCAA First Round
The Cornell men's lacrosse team fell short of their Final Four repeat bid, falling to Ohio State, 15-7, in the NCAA Tournament first round in Ithaca., N.Y. The Big Red finish the season with an 11-4 overall record.

Ten Baseball Ivies Selected to CoSIDA All-District Teams
Ten Ivy League Baseball players have been selected to CoSIDA/ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District teams. Half of the 10 total Ivies selected came from Brown. Harvard, Penn and Yale also had at least one player selected. First-team selections will be forwarded for Academic All-America honors.

Rome wasn't built in a day, and the Ivy League Baseball Championship certainly wasn't decided in one. After a postponement from the weekend, and two high scoring affairs, the Columbia Lions took the deciding game, 7-5.

Ivies Score Yet Again
After scoring very well in the NCAA team-by-team Academic Progress Report analysis two weeks ago, the Ivy League has scored big again as the Association has released its sport-by-sport report today. Of the Ivy League sports that are also NCAA sports, the Ivy League has the nation's top APR average in more than 65 percent (19 of 29).

Ivy Baseball Championship Set For Midweek Series
The Ivy League Baseball Championship, originally scheduled for May 3rd-4th has been rescheduled due to weather complications in Hanover, N.H. over the weekend. The Championship will begin today, Tue., May 6th, at 12 noon.

Ivy Weekly Women's Lacrosse Awards 10 - 5/5
Holly McGarvie had five goals and an assist in two Princeton games this week and also combined for seven draw controls against Maryland (5) and Georgetown (2). The junior midfielder also had a team-high three goals against Maryland and a pair of goals and an assist against the Hoyas.

Brown goalie Jordan Burke (pictured) was huge, only giving up 5 goals with 13 saves, while Bears freshman Andrew Feinberg scored the two biggest goals of the year, as Brown beat Princeton, 6-5, to earn a share of its first Ivy title since 1995.

Tigers Sweep, Take Softball Championship
The Princeton Tigers swept two games — 4-2 and 5-1 — from Ivy North division champs Harvard today to claim the Ivy League Softball title and an NCAA Tournament Bid.

Cornell Earns Ivy Automatic NCAA Bid
With Brown’s 6-5 victory over Princeton this afternoon, the No. 8 Cornell men’s lacrosse team became the Ivy League’s automatic qualifier for the NCAA tournament by virtue of its victory over co-champs Brown last weekend.

Brown Earns Share of Ivy Crown
Brown downed Princeton in men's lacrosse on Saturday to claim a share of the Ivy League Championship, its first Ivy title since 1995. The Bears won 10 of their last 11 regular season games to finish tied with Cornell at 5-1 in Ivy play.

All-Ivy Women's Tennis -- 2008
New ground was broken around the Ivy women's tennis circuit this season, first as the Yale Bulldogs won the Ivy championship outright for the first time since 1981. In response, the eight Ivy coaches named Eli junior Janet Kim as the Ivy Player of the Year, the first such award granted to a Yalie.

All-Ivy Men's Tennis -- 2008
Princeton's Peter Capkovic emerged from a tight field to earn the Ivy Player of the Year Award in balloting of the eight Ivy League head coaches, but NCAA-bound Harvard was the only squad with two first-team selections in Ashwin Kumar and Chris Clayton.

Harvard Men, Yale Women To NCAAs
The Ivy League tennis champions learned their NCAA Championships assignments this week as the Harvard men will play No. 17 Texas Tech in Ann Arbor, Mich., in the first round on May 10 while the Yale women will face off against No. 2 seed Georgia in the first round on May 9 in Athens, Ga.

Penn Women's Lacrosse Earns No. 1 Ranking
In addition to snapping Northwestern's 36-game winning streak, Penn women's lacrosse also ousted the 'Cats from the No. 1 position in the Inside Lacrosse media poll after 17 straight No. 1 rankings. The Quakers and Wildcats shared first place position in the IWLCA poll.

Princeton set to Host Ivy Softball Championship Series
Ivy League South Division champions Princeton will host the Ivy Softball Championship Series this weekend when they welcome in Harvard to Class of 1895 Field for a best-of-three series.

Jamie Lettire was huge for Princeton, as she hit the go-ahead home run in game one Sunday against Cornell and the game-winning homer in game two to power the Tigers to a doubleheader sweep of the Big Red and clinch an Ivy South title.

Princeton's Spencer Lucian raised his batting average by 23 points to .433 following a weekend against Cornell in which he went 6 for 10 (.600) with five rbis and seven runs scored. Lucian highlighted the weekend with four extra base hits and Player of the Week honors.

Dartmouth to Host Lions for Ivy Baseball Championship
The Dartmouth baseball team has earned the chance to host the Ivy League Championship Series after winning a tie-breaker and will host Columbia in a best-of-three beginning on Saturday with a twin bill at 12 p.m. at Red Rolfe Field. Game 3 will be held Sunday, if necessary.

Ivy Weekly Women's Lacrosse Awards 9 - 4/28
Sarah Waxman returns as the Defensive Player of the Week after making seven big saves for Penn against No. 1 Northwestern. The Wildcats entered the game averaging 16.80 goals per game but Waxman kept a clean sheet in the second half and only surrendered seven goals in an 11-7 win.

Ivy Weekly Men's Lacrosse Awards 9 - 4/28
Dartmouth goalie Michael Novosel had the game of his life, carrying the Big Green to an upset win over No. 10 Princeton. The sophomore came up huge with 16 saves for a .640 save percentage in the 11-9 victory in Hanover.

Three-time WLAX Champs Get Penn-alized
The Penn women's lacrosse team did what no other team could in 36 previous games — beat No. 1 Northwestern. The Quakers shut out the three-time defending national champion in the second half to take away a 11-7 victory.

Ivies Impressive in 2008 APR Ratings
Ivy League student-athletes again have the nation’s best records in the annual NCAA Division I Academic Progress Report ratings for enrollment from the 2003-04 through 2006-07 academic years, which was issued today. The APR measures semester-by-semester records for every Division I team with regard to each members’ continuing eligibility, retention and progress toward graduation.

All-Ivy Men's & Women's Golf -- 2007/08
Princeton junior Susannah Aboff became the fourth Tiger women's golfer to win the Ivy League individual title Sunday, claiming the title by 11 shots at Atlantic City Country Club. On the men's side, Penn's Michael Blodgett took top All-Ivy honors.

Ivy Weekly Baseball Awards 7 - 4/22
Harvard's Shawn Haviland earned a win and a save over the weekend as part of a four-game sweep of Brown. The senior also threw a scoreless inning of relief at Fenway Park against Northeastern. For the week, he threw 9.1 innings, struck out eight and did not allow an earned run.

Ivy Weekly Softball Awards 7 - 4/22
Jenna Campagnolo powered Cornell to their 18th straight win and a tie with Princeton for the Ivy South Divisional lead. The senior hit .667 with three home runs, a triple and two doubles for nine RBI on the six-game week.

Princeton defender Charlie Kolkin led a Tiger defense that stifled Cornell's high-powered attack, en route to a huge Ivy win over the previously Ivy-unbeaten Big Red. The win snapped a four-game losing streak against Cornell.

Ivy Weekly Women's Lacrosse Awards 8 - 4/21
Penn's Ali DeLuca scored eight points in two vital wins against Princeton and Brown that gave the Quakers a second consecutive outright Ivy League title. The performance also included a career night against Princeton for the defending Ivy League Rookie of the Year.

Harvard, Yale Snare Tennis Titles
Both the Harvard men and Yale women hit the road on Sunday and returned to their respective campuses as the 2008 Ivy League Champions. For the Bulldogs, it was the program's first outright title since 1981.

Columbia takes Men's Golf Crown
Columbia won the 2008 Ivy League Men's Golf Championship today, beating Yale by nine strokes at Galloway National. It is the second Ivy title in program history, with the first coming in 1999. Penn junior Michael Blodgett became the first Quaker to win the individual title.

Harvard Wins Historic First Ivy Women's Golf Title
The Harvard women's golf team today won the Ivy League Women's Golf Championship for the first time in school history. The Crimson did it in style, winning the event by 10 strokes over second-place Columbia.

Yale Leads Ivy Men after Day One
After Day One of the 2008 Ivy Men's Golf Championships, it is Yale leading the pack, up two strokes on Columbia. It was a historic day at Galloway, as Brown's Larry Haertel set a new course record (previously held by three-time U.S. Open champ Hale Irwin) with a first round score of 67. Penn's Michael Blodgett matched the mark in round two.

Harvard Leads Ivy Women's Golf After Two Rounds
The Crimson shot a team total of 585 (9-over-par) to take the lead over second-place Princeton and third-place Columbia. The event is taking place at scenic Atlantic City Country Club.

Ivies Descend on Atlantic City Links
The 2008 Ivy League Golf Championships will take place Saturday and Sunday, with the the men's event to be held at Galloway National Golf Club in Galloway, N.J., and the women's at the Atlantic City Country Club in Northfield, N.J.

Deja Vu, Red and Blue — Penn Repeats in WLAX
The No. 6 Penn women's lacrosse team downed its rival and No. 2-ranked Princeton, 9-5 to clinch a share of the Ivy League title. The Tigers entered the game with an undefeated record and the pride of a win streak over the Quakers in Princeton that lasted for more than two decades. Both are no more. The Quakers also secured an NCAA automatic bid.

Dartmouth senior Damon Wright finished a 4-1 week for the Big Green with a .471 batting average. He drove in six runs, courtesy of two home runs, and scored six more runs of his own. For the week, the Player of the Week had 15 total bases to go along with an .882 slugging percentage.

Ivy Pitcher of the Week Jen Meunier of Cornell was stellar once again this week for the 11-1 Big Red, going 4-0 with 20 strikeouts — all while stifling League opponents to a mere .167 batting average.

Co-Players of the Week Jordan Burke of Brown and Bob Schneider of Princeton virtually willed their teams to victories this past week, while Rookie of the Week Jack McBride set a Princeton freshman record with six goals in a win over Penn.

Ivy Weekly Women's Lacrosse Awards 7 - 4/14
Cornell's Katherine Simmons was dominant on both ends of the field as the Big Red swept Brown and No. 17 Stanford on the weekend. Simmons posted seven goals and three assists and added six draws, five ground balls, five caused turnovers in the games. She even claimed a NCAA record for good measure.

USA Takes Gold Over Canada in World Championship
In a game with 10 total Ivies between the two rosters, it was Team USA downing Team Canada, 4-3, in the gold medal game of the 2008 IIHF World Women's Championship in Harbin, China.

Two Ivies Earn NCAA Postgraduate Scholarships
Dartmouth's Nick Christman and Yale's Alan Kimball have been named as recipients of NCAA Postgraduate Scholarships. The scholarships are awarded for academic and athletic excellence to student-athletes in the last year of competition.

Matheson Headed to Beijing with Team Canada
Princeton senior Diana Matheson has helped guide the Canadian national soccer team to its first Olympic Games berth later in the summer. Team Canada will face the United States for the CONCACAF title on Sat. April 12th. Both teams will be in the Beijing Olympics field.

Cowher Named Second-Team Lowe's Senior All-America
With balloting for the Lowe's Senior CLASS Award complete, Meagan Cowher earned a spot on the second-team Senior All-America, the award's organizers announced this week. The senior led the Ivy League in scoring for a second year in a row with 17.7 points per game.

Robinson Steps Down as Brown Men's Basketball Coach
Brown men's basketball coach Craig Robinson has stepped down as head coach of the Bears to become the head coach at Oregon State University of the Pac-10 Conference. Robinson led Brown to a school-best 19 wins this past season.

Ivy Weekly Baseball Awards 5 - 4/8
Penn's Steve Gable continues to provide consistent offense at the top of the order for Quakers. He is on an 18-game hitting streak and has hits in all but two of Penn’s 23 games. He leads the Quakers with a .465 batting average and is the Ivy Player of the Week selection.

Princeton sophomore Jamie Lettire was stellar for the Ivy-unbeaten Tigers, hitting .571 (8-for-14) with two home runs, a double and four RBI for a slugging percentage of 1.071 in Princeton's four-game sweep of Yale and Brown.

Princeton's Katie Cox utilized tenacious defense to pace the Tigers to a 2-0 week. In the much anticipated match-up with Yale, Cox shut down the vaunted Bulldog attack and shut out her primary defensive responsibility. Her exploits have earned the Defensive Player of the Week nod.

Ivy Weekly Men's Lacrosse Awards 6 - 4/7
Cornell's Ryan Hurley continued his offensive onslaught this weekend, leading No. 5 Big Red with five goals and one assist as Cornell defeated Harvard, 11-7. It was the fourth time in five games that Hurley has scored at least four goals.

Outdoor Heps Schedule Announced
The schedule for the 2008 Outdoor Heps Championship has been released and is available at the Ivy League's track and field blog. This season's outdoor championships will be contested at Cuyler Field and Dwyer Track in New Haven, Conn., on May 10-11.

Brown Athletics to Host "Race & Sport " Talk
Brown Athletics will host a panel discussion titled "Reflections on Race & Sport In America" on April 14, featuring New York Times columnist William Rhoden along with head coach Craig Robinson and track standout Nicole Burns (pictured).

Ivy League Men's Swimming Excels at NCAAs
The Ivy League men's swimming contingent represented the Ancient Eight well at the 2008 NCAA Swimming & Diving Championships. Harvard's Geoff Rathgeber, Princeton's Doug Lennox and Yale's Alex Righi had near-world class swims and were rewarded with All-America status.

Junior Michael Pagliarulo has been a main contributor to the recent success for Dartmouth — which enjoyed a 5-0 week. He sported a robust .545 average with eight runs, seven RBI, two home runs and a double. His efforts are rewarded with Co-Player of the Week honors, sharing with Yale's Ryan Lavarnway, who was also impressive.

Penn shortstop Christina Khosravi tore it up this weekend, hitting a combined nine-for-11 with two home runs and nine RBIs in four League games — all while leading the Quakers to a 3-1 Ivy mark.

Louis Dale Named AP All-American
Cornell sophomore Louis Dale has been named to the Associated Press honorable mention All-America team. The 2007-08 Ivy League Player of the Year helped lead the Big Red to its first Ivy title and NCAA tournament berth in 20 years.

Ivy Weekly Women's Lacrosse Awards 5 - 3/31
Lauren Vitkus enjoyed a career week and played a huge part in pacing Brown to a 2-0 record — with wins over Marist and the Bears’ upset of #20 Dartmouth. Her two goals and an assist lifted Bruno over the Red Foxes 13-12 and three second half goals ignited the 8-5 win against the Big Green.

Ivy Weekly Men Lacrosse Awards 5 - 3/31
Princeton's Alex Hewit was stellar in goal in two hard-fought Tiger wins, making a total 27 saves while allowing only 13 goals — including a point blank save with six seconds left to preserve a 7-6 win over Rutgers.

Six Ivy Leaguers Named to Opening Day Rosters
As the 2008 Opening Day Major League Baseball rosters were finalized, the Ivy League has added to its growing list of professional baseball players. All in all, the League has six on active 25-man rosters.

Phils Turn to Princeton for Relief
Recently, Ivyleaguesports.com reported on a feel good story about former Princeton catcher, Tim Lahey, who became a pitcher after being drafted by the Minnesota Twins. Today, the career minor-league journeyman pitcher, landed on 2008 Opening Day roster for the Philadelphia Phillies.

Winter Academic All-Ivy Teams Announced
The Ivy League has released its list of student-athletes selected for All-Ivy Academic honors in winter sports. The 80 men and women were starters or key reserves on a officially recognized varsity team with 3.0 cumulative grade point averages.

North Dakota Stymies Tiger Attack in NCAA Hockey
The final score sheet will show that North Dakota defeated Princeton men’s hockey 5-1 in the first round of the NCAA Regional, but Princeton doubled the Fighting Sioux in shots and carried the play against the region’s top seed for most of the day.

Aemisegger and Co. Have Strong Swims at NCAAs

Dartmouth's Scott Awarded Charles T. Stoner Scholarship
The Women's Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA) has selected Dartmouth senior Sydney Scott as the winner of this year's Charles T. Stoner Law Scholarship Award. The scholarship is named for the former legal consultant for the WBCA and is presented annually female collegiate basketball player intending to pursue law.

Dartmouth Duo Helps Kiwis Punch First-Ever Olympic Bid
Dartmouth men's soccer players Craig Henderson and Daniel Keat have helped their native New Zealand seal a bid for the 2008 Beijing Olympics. The pair helped the Kiwis seal an Olympic bid for soccer after going 5-0 in qualifying.

Vaillancourt Wins Patty Kazmaier Award
Harvard junior forward Sarah Vaillancourt, a 2006 Olympic gold medalist with Team Canada, was chosen as the 2008 recipient of the Patty Kazmaier Memorial Award as America’s top women's college hockey player.

Leen Wins National Title
Cornell 157-pounder Jordan Leen has won the national title by beating Illinois' Michael Poeta, 5-4, at the NCAA Championships in St. Louis, Mo. The No. 8 seed in the tournament completed his unlikely run by knocking off the top two seeds en route to capturing the title.
