PROVIDENCE, R.I. -- The Brown University Student-Athlete Advisory Committee will host the second-annual Providence Plays on Saturday, April 30 at Noon. Providence Plays is a free event, which encourages elementary and middle school students to come out and participate in various athletic events with members of the Bears’ 37 Division I Athletic Programs.
Check-In for the event begins at 11 a.m. and is free for all comers. It will be held at the Olney Margolies Athletic Center (OMAC) in the Erickson Athletic Complex on the campus of Brown University.
Participants will be put into small groups, and guided through stations set up at the Brown University Athletic Complex. Each station will be dedicated to a specific sport — such as basketball, hockey, or gymnastics — and led by the Brown athletes. Participants get to try all the stations in a safe and exciting environment. Student-athletes will also be sure to share tips on nutrition, fitness, and healthy choices with the participants.
The event is community-based and action-filled, and promises to be a fun and engaging experience for everyone involved.
