PRINCETON, N.J. -- With successful sweeps of Harvard and Dartmouth last weekend, the Yale Bulldogs claimed the top spot in the Ivy League women's volleyball standings.

The defending champs downed Harvard on Friday night by scores of 25-17, 25-15 and 25-18, followed by a sweep of Dartmouth on Saturday by scores of 25-23, 25-19 and 25-12. Along with extending their Ivy League match winning streak to 17 straight, Yale has also won 18 consecutive sets against Ivy League foes dating back to last year.

Overall, Yale sits at 9-3 on the season with the losses coming against three teams ranked in this week's AVCA Top 25 -- Penn State, Stanford and Missouri (which is one of three unbeaten teams remaining nationally).

Princeton, Brown and Cornell sit in a tie for second at 2-1 currently. The Tigers lost at Cornell on Friday, but bounced back to beat Columbia on Saturday. Cornell nearly came out of the weekend with a share of first place. But after beating Princeton on Friday, the Big Red couldn't close out against Penn on Saturday, dropping the final two sets in a 3-2 loss.

Brown earned an Ivy weekend sweep to snap a three-match losing skid -- the Bears' first Ivy weekend sweep since November 2007. After a midweek loss to Rhode Island, the Bears bounced back and beat both Dartmouth and Harvard in five sets. Thea Derrough led the way with three double-digit kill performances, including a career-high 20 kills in Saturday's win over the Crimson. Derrough totaled 42 kills while hitting .371 over the three matches, and recorded Brown's first 20-kill contest since Katrina Post notched 21 kills against Cornell on Oct. 28, 2011. The upstart Bears host Princeton and Penn this weekend.

One bright spot in Harvard's tough weekend was freshman Corinne Bain's performance at Brown. The Manhattan Beach, Calif. native recorded Harvard's first-ever triple-doule with 15 kills, 33 assists and 11 digs. Among her six double-doubles this year, Bain nearly had a triple-double twice, missing by just one dig.

This weekend, Ancient Eight squads continue their traditional Friday-Saturday slates. All eight matches from around the League will be streamed on The Ivy League® Digital Network and can be watched simulataneously with the network's quad-view screen.

Yale sophomore middle blocker Jesse Ebner (Portola Valley, Calif.) hit .533 with 20 kills in Yale's two three-set sweeps over the weekend. Ebner had 11 kills on 15 attempts in the 3-0 win over Harvard and added nine kills on 15 attempts in the sweep of Dartmouth on Saturday. She had three aces in the win over Harvard and accounted for 15 points in the match. She also had seven digs against Dartmouth. Ebner is now hitting .403 for the season, second-best in the Ancient Eight.
